There are three hormones needed for muscle building. These are the Nitric Oxide, Insulin-Like Growth Factor and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor.

The Nitric Oxide is the primary hormone that triggers the growth of muscles. The other two hormones are, in fact, dependent on this hormone. An enzyme called “nitric oxide synthase,” which increases more than three to six times than regular through intensive training, controls the Nitric Oxide hormone. When these enzymes increase, it means that more Nitric Oxide is produced. The Insulin-Like Growth Factor hormones are created through intense build muscle training. Intense training tears your muscle fibers and this makes the muscle produce this hormone. The Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor hormone is increased by the flexing of the muscles and this hormone is important for increasing muscle growth, oxygen and increases the amount of capillaries that feed the muscles. All of these hormones activate the satellite cells to fuse into the existing muscle fibers and this will, of course, result to making bigger muscles.
