There are many exercise programs and training plans that tell people they have to do cardio for either thirty minutes a day everyday or for sixty minutes a day every other day if they want to lose weight and get in shape, but several studies have challenged that idea. The result of those studies is an increase in the use of interval training.
Interval training involves doing an exercise, usually some form of cardio, at the fastest pace possible for a brief amount of time followed by a short period of rest or activity at a slower pace. This is then repeated multiple times to create a high-intensity fat-burning workout. The benefit of interval training versus turbulence training traditional cardio is that the same benefits seen from “low and slow” traditional cardio can be seen in a much shorter time period if interval training is used instead.
Turbulence Training’s founder Craig Ballantyne incorporates interval training into his workout program because it is one of the quickest and most efficient ways to get in shape when combined with his strength-training plan.
